Staff were friendly which is always a bonus. I'd certainly go back and try some of the other goods on offer but I think I'll see what the original offers and how closely they match first.

Coffees were too bitter and not particularly great but perhaps if you're having a sweet pastry it would be a good complement to that.

Well, edit as of 11/11/17 - glad to see somebody tweaked the heat on le croissants and those are GOLDEN now, brown no more. Almost French :-)

The manager was rude by taking the coffee away before we had time to finish. There are plenty of cafes in parramatta with good service but this one has none. You want to pay money for bad service then I suggest this one. They want your money without the atmosphere and definitely bad service especially from the manager himself.

I had a mocha and a beef brisket, red wine and mushroom pie. Delicious on both accounts and exactly what I felt like. Staff are very friendly and responsive. Nice communal area to sit and relax.

As I've not been to the original BSB in Surrey Hills I don't know how well the Parramatta store has replicated the feel of the original. My wife and I stopped for lunch on the weekend and grabbed a 'chunky beef' pie and a sausage roll (pork and fennel.) I thought the sausage roll was quite good albeit more fennel than perhaps was to my liking. The pie wasn't all that good - or at least the pastry part of it. I expected better from a bakery and just thought it seemed overly soggy and not as firm as I like.

I really like the vibe of this bakery. The staff are super friendly and the rustic interior of the shop makes it a great place to sit and relax. The pastry selection is great, but the coffee is pretty weak. They also have excellent sourdough bread. This place usually has a bit of a crowd, but the staff tend to move though orders quickly.

Breads are brilliant. Croissants are burnt and dry - would be fine with less heat. Hit and miss shop, easily capable of anything between 1-5 stars..
